The Alumni Futures Social Media Round Table is coming to New York City!

What Is It and Who's It For?:

The Social Media Round Table is a day-long discussion (a mini-conference), with space for just 15 professionals from schools, colleges and universities, or from other non-profits connected with education. Fundraisers, communications professionals, alumni officers are all welcome, but other fields are welcome too: student affairs, athletics, career services, admissions and more.

Up to three spots are available for representatives from the private sector – consultants, vendors or others whose work connects them to education or non-profits.

The Round Table is designed for individuals with low to moderate exposure to social medianot for complete beginners or for expert "power users." You will get the most from the Round Table if you: 

- have basic familiarity with Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn and
- are interested in mid-level strategy and tactics for engaging constituents with social technology.

  • What trends to follow to keep up to date with new tools and tactics
  • How to measure the ROI of your social media efforts
  • How to communicate to your boss (and your boss's boss) why social technology matters

Location: 

The Alumni Futures Social Media Round Table takes place in New York City on Thursday, July 22, 2010 from 8:30 a.m. until approximately 3:30 p.m. Your registration fee includes Round Table presentations, discussion and feedback, as well as continental breakfast, and deli-style lunch on site. 

 

Registration & Fees:

  • $229 for non-profit participants
  • $299 for commercial attendees (limit 3 attendees in this category)

After you register, you will receive email with additional details about the Round Table,including:

  • a request to submit individual topics of interest to you
  • exact meeting location & directions, 
  • detailed schedule, and 
  • other helpful information.

Registration is on a first-come basis. 

We will maintain a waiting list in case of last-minute cancellations. Participants who cancel at least 10 days in advance will be refunded their registration fee minus $15 processing fee. Cancellations July 12, 2010 or later will not be refunded.
